KICKIN' IT AT THE HISTORICAL SOCIETY
in favorites
2008.10.19

Despite Eric having a broken arm, he and Susan still had one heck of a great event yesterday. The weather was perfect, the location (Historical Society) was perfect, the flowers (mcnamara) were perfect, the wedding planning (Detail & Design) was perfect, the band (Tim Brickley) were prefect.

Here's a few snapshots of the night while I work on the book!

LIZ AND KEVIN LIGHT IT UP!

Liz and Kevin had a relaxing, enjoyable weekend. Geno and I felt more like guests than staff, and that's always the sign of a good relationship!

Here's some favorites while we jam on the album:

VALERIE AND RUSSELL IN CHICAGO
in favorites
2008.10.10

Geno and I had an awesome time last weekend in Chicago! Marcy and Mioara, from Great Events, did a bang up job designing and managing the event. It was an intimate, lovely wedding, at the very posh Ritz Carlton, downtown. After the wedding, Geno and I visited with friends, while we sat a table away from Whitney Huston, at the hotel bar! (She didn't sing for me... :( )

Enjoy some favorites while I put the finishing touches on the album!

NATIONAL FUN LEAGUE.
in personal
2008.10.06

So, thanks to my friend and associate shooter, Geno, I had the opportunity to shoot an NFL game today, in Green Bay. I'm very tired from over 7 hours in the car, so I'm just going to toss a few fun shots out. It was a trip to be on the field with 70,000+ people screaming down toward you!

Hope you enjoy these few snaps... I have a new respect for sports shooters--this stuff is HARD. Tracking action with a heavy zoom sounds easy, but it's so easy to get completely lost and miss everything. In some ways, shooting weddings prepares you for anything, but getting used to a 400mm lens with a 1.4x converter on it is tough. I felt lost!

Geno and I were there primarily to cover a couple guys. This first shot is the front-line guy we were covering. It was crazy how much freedom i had as a photographer. There were few rules and few areas I wasn't allowed in. I was able to get within physical reach of any player.

One of the very few action shots I managed to get. I thought it looked fun for the guy on the ground...

Ryan, the ATL quatrerback was the other guy we were covering.

Geno thoughtfully proved that I was at the game.

Ryan looks so serious! Chill out, man.

I was lucky enough to photograph this interception. Of all the photographers who could be in the background of my shot... It's Geno on the opposite end-zone. Hahah

This guy jumped over me, literally, after scoring a touchdown. I wouldn't be surprised if you see me duck in a highlight reel. I got this fun shot of him as he dove into the crowd. Fortunately, I had the wits to grab my other camera with my short 70-200 lens on it so I could get the shot--he was only about 15 feet away. I love the Green Bay fans!
