So, I’ve been challenging my buddy, Mike Larson, in this camera-toss shot. For those of you who don’t know, you set your camera on a delay, throw it in the air, and take a picture of the ground. Sounds simple, right?
After having done it at weddings with bridal parties, etc., A couple weeks ago, I did it on a dock where the results of dropping the camera would have been, well, soggy. I was afraid to throw it too high for obvious reasons, but still got the shot.
Recently, Mike tried to one-up me with around 200 people being in his shot. That’s cool, for sure. So, I had to push things further.
A house is being built across the street from me. They just broke ground on it yesterday, leaving a gaping hole for the basement and foundation. I stood on the edge, threw the camera and, most importantly, put my hands in my pocket and looked away.
My heart was racing! I had to toss the camera higher, to have time to reacquire it visually to make the catch. I only tried it once… I was shaking too much for the repeat. There you go, Mike. Your turn…

Ron Dawson had a good idea to give another shot to help with some context… I don’t have a human to put in the photo, so sorry about the lack of scale… But it’s a big hole.
